Teonei Kelona Adelle Salway was born 30 April 1974 in Albany, Oregon. Her first home was in Sweet Home where she attended Pleasant Valley Preschool followed by Oak Heights Elementary where she excelled in the Talented and Gifted (TAG) Program. She attended advanced classes at Rockwood Middle School in Portland, and Poynter Junior High in Hillsboro where she began her journalism career by working on the yearbook staff. She graduated from Glencoe High School with honors During her teen years she also was active in the Young Women's program of her church earning both her Young Womanhood Recognition award and her Summiteer camper achievement. In the summer of 1990 she was an exchange student to Japan for two weeks. Her grade point average in high school earned her a scholarship to the college of her choice, Brigham Young University. She graduated in April 1996 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in English. Her experience earned her an internship from the Dow Jones Newspaper fund to work as copy editor on the Kansas City Star in Missouri for a summer. She also was editor of the BYU newspaper and worked as a night editor in Hamilton, Ohio at the time she met her husband. She was married to Rajesh on July 4th, 1999 and sealed to him in the Portland Oregon Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints one year later. They lived in Cary, North Carolina after their marriage, and have since moved to southern California. They had many opportunities for travel together while Rajesh worked for Lucent Technologies, but are now settled in California where they enjoy the weather immensely.
Teonei became a mother on 28 October of 2000 and continued to work out of her home editing software documentation for Actuate while enjoying her newborn son, Austen. She was able to become a full-time mom shortly after.
In September of 2001, the family moved to a townhouse which they purchased in Hayward, California just weeks before Austen had surgery to remove a cyst from his head. They enjoyed being home-owners and making new roots. Their travels have cut down substantially and they spend their time in awe of the miracles of childhood as their boys progress day by day in their development.
Teonei served as the Young Women's president in her ward at Church (the organization for girls ages 12 to 18); and Rajesh was the Financial Clerk. Dhruva joined the family in January of 2003 and has added much to the family activities.
Then in May, 2004, after selling the townhouse and purchasing a home in Tracy, they made the move to their present location.
Rajesh has been promoted several times in his employment and is very busy working long hours, and enjoying traveling, hiking, and his family when not at work.
Their third son is expected in mid August of 2005.
