David began his existence in this world on October 24, 1984.  He was born in a birthing home and then joined his family in Oregon City.  He has always enjoyed school and done well.  Having four sisters has been quite an experience for him and allowed him to already learn how to charm the female species.  Dave is a friendly, outgoing teen with charismatic charm and a witty sense of humor that keeps others at ease in all types of situations.
Dave is so well-known that it is rumored he has ties even with the lone ranger...in case you should be trying to get
in touch with him for any reason.  Just contact Dave and he'll relay your
message!
Dave stays involved in lots of extra-curricular activities within his church, school and the community.  He enjoys and participates in  high school drama and is in the school choir. He has been a part of swing dance team, and an active boy scout, earning his Eagle award.

A GREAT WORD

I heard a funny story of an ancient monastery charged with copying old books and scrolls for the faith.

One day, Father Florian, who headed the work of the scriptorium, was asked by a new monk: "Does not the copying by hand of other copies allow for chances of error? How do we know we are not copying the mistakes of someone else? Are they ever checked against the originals?"

"A very good point," Father Florian agreed. "I will take one of the latest books down to the vault and compare it to the original."

After a day had passed and the priest had not returned, the monks began to worry. When they went to the vault, they found him weeping over an ancient manuscript.

"What is the problem, Father?" asked one of the monks.

"A mistake," he sobbed. "The word was supposed to be 'celebrate'!"

We can be assured that "celibate" was never confused with "celebrate," but do we tend to leave celebration out of spirituality? For some people, it is all about following the rules and practices. For others, it is a celebration of love.

Would you say your life is more like a guest at a party, or like the one who cleans up after someone else's party? Would the joy of a friend's wedding or the obligation of yet another committee meeting more closely describe your approach to living?

Not that we can be, or ought to be, happy all the time. There is much growth in pain. But "celebrate" is one of those great words that leads to great living. If you think you could use more celebration, today is a great day to begin!

Yippee, Hooray!  In the meantime, David continues to study for school classes, participating in drama and choirs as well as working as assistand manager at Fox's Spy shop.  His next major endeavor will be to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for two years.  The area of service will not be known until after he submits his application to serve on his 19th birthday.

UPDATE:  David graduated from Oregon City High School and has been busy working at a variety of jobs to earn income for his coming mission.  Among his recent employment opportunities were Parr Lumber Company and UPS.  Two places that allowed him little sleep and lots of weight lifting exercise.

Are you sure this is what you want?
Yeah! It's over with!
It's pretty cool to be DONE with high school and not have to worry about making the grades anymore.  Now it's just a matter of getting to work on time and learning how to discipline and manage the time and money available.
David earned his EAGLE SCOUT award when he was fourteen, but waited for a best friend and a couple of others in his troop to achieve theirs before having his court of honor.  It was quite a court with the group that ended up receiving their awards together.
