It was a beautiful spring day on the 20th of May 1995 when Joseph David Mayer and Ruth Adel (Miller) Salway were married and sealed in the Portland temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They were fortunate to have most of their family members in attendance as well as a couple of dozen good friends. It was a day for much celebrating.

This is my one of my favorite wedding pictures. All of my beautiful daughters and my best friends! I was extremely blessed to have a fabulous professional photographer thanks to Joe, and his generosity.
My knight in shining armor and my love.
My five beautiful children were present and supportive.
The beautiful cake was made by Iva Curry, a wonderful "sister" of mine. I made up the floral pieces for her to use from bits and pieces that matched the other flowers that I used in the wedding.
The three youngest of our children, Katie-David-Sebastian.
And our silly girls.

A table was set up to display our family and special interests. Each child had an 8X10 portrait at the table. Cow figurines were nestled among the tulle with other items.
I took a class on ribbon embroidery in hopes of embellishing my wedding gown, but then decided to rent the gown. I used the embroidery skills on some fabric hearts that I made to decorate the hall. I also made about 250 smaller peach sachet hearts with embroidery which I used as wedding favors.
Julia was married to Jayesh on June 6th, about two weeks later.
Glad I did my nails! Unfortunately, they are fake as I don't grow nails!
Decorating a gymnasium calls for creativity. I used heavy paper fans and florals to help disguise the basketball hoops.
We rented a silver fountain for our punch bowl so used a clear lemonade-soda mixture to run through that.
